Fast Recovery Diodes?

Post by Joe Popp » Thu Aug 02, 2007 3:19 pm

I am going up to 1N5408 3 Amp diodes for my next build. What is the advantage of getting Fast recovery diodes? Does it even matter in a guitar circuit? Just curious...

On the same note...I recently noticed a catalog offering "Super Fast" recovery diodes. I wonder if there are noticeable differences.

Use the search button on FRED's - everything you need to know and hear has been posted in previous threads.

I just wanna add here that I ordered some STTA 2512P's from STM last week and I got the information that they don't produce them anymore. I was lucky to get some of the STTA 2512P's they had left.

I can't remember seeing a datasheet of the STTA 2512P here in the forum so far, so:

Don't use this big blocks and better go with the UF5408, it's the same size as the 1N5408

Larry
The fault almost always is sitting in front of the amp
