Post by Marshall lover » Sat Jan 15, 2005 12:09 pm

Hi Guy's, I want to go 67 specs on my P2P Board, in 67 they used 270k on the mixer instead 470k on 68 and later models,I need a little help in this area,Do I need to change the bypass Cap,to go with the 270k mixer??
What tonal diffrence does this makes, I heard this gives it more gain???

it lets a little more juice by into the next stage...this will change the frequency response very slightly.

I'd question how much extra gain you'll get from this, as it will also allow more signal to leak into the other channel. I'd expect the channels to become even more interactive than they are with the 470K's.

Absolutely. This is why JTM 45's have so much more channel to channel interaction. Not that it's such a bad thing, just different.

The resistor and cap network create a time constant (a frequency) when wired in parallel. Which you're likely hearing as opposed to more gain.
