PT Wiring Help

Post by KMC » Sat Sep 03, 2005 10:33 pm

Just got my 50W MV board today :D I'm putting it in a Laney pro tube 50 PreAOR. The color codes are different from the Instuctions (i.e. Marshall Drake trannies) I've been told Laney Used Skot trannies? One layout showed 1 white PT wire going to the front of the board. Another showed 2
non-descriped wires going to the side of the board. Just wanna be sure I'm
getting it right here. NO ROOM TO ASSUME :? Any help would be appreciated. :) Here are some pics if that will help? The 2 orange wires are in ? The 2 purple come off the standby switch. The OT wiring is in? to.
BTW, still no luck finding a schematic. close's I've found was a AOR 100W
and it did not give the transformer color codes.

Is it possable? That the 2nd orange wire (on the left) from the PT is just a Bias tap? and is not needed.

O.K . I think I'm ready ? I've got a plan of attack. But I need you fella's with a better understanding of signal flow have a look. I've studied the Laney PCB and came up with this scenario. My 1st question will it fly or fry? I need to know for sure the Blue wire from cap 2 is my B+? Is the Choke polarized? Here's a few pics that should help
