2 questions about jtm45 kit

Post by Guest » Sat Apr 02, 2005 2:43 pm

Hi everybody, I just ordered the jtm45 kit that I'm gonna install in a RI Bluesbreaker . My amp has a resistor instead of a choke . I see that you have a few different value chokes available, What would be the proper value choke to get ? Also, what would be the difference in tone or note attack in using a resistor vs. a choke ? Is it the same like bigger fllter caps ( harder sound) vs. smaller caps (softer sound) ? Thanks for any help , Chris. P. S. Idon't have regular access to a computer so It may take a while for me to say thanks for your help so, Thanks again in advance .

I'm still puzzled, the schematic shows a choke but I've never gotten to tear the BluesBreaker RI apart to really get a look at it.
I'm sure the 3H choke would be appropriate for the amp, but check out some of the other recent threads on chokes for opinions on the sounds of different choke values. I've never really experimented with them to offer advice there.
