Ok, the kit went in really easy. I have checked, checked checked and checked all the solder joints, and diagrams. I have one extra ground wire that is grounded near the PRESENCE pot, here....I'm pointing to it at the end of my hemostats.


The wire went to BK3 on the PCB, which connects to a little cap wired into the .022 cap. As seen here....


What should I do with the wire since there is no cap on the PTP?

Here's the rest of the pics of today's work. The .022s aren't hooked up yet, they are going to the PPIV MV.

That's a puzzler....I can't find reference to that cap and ground wire in the schematics I have on the RI's. It almost looks to be a bypass cap, to bleed some high frequencies off to ground to keep the amp from oscillating. There's not much other reason for it to be there at that point in the circuit going into the phase inverter.
You may have to tie it off somewhere and see how the amp runs before removing it altogether.
Here's a little something that gets a lot of guys putting their PTP in. The purple wire going to the presence pot needs to be tucked as far under the board as you can get it, keeping it away from the other tone control wires. By the same token, tuck the other tone control wires as far under the volume and tone pots as you can, up in the front edge of the chassis. If those wires get too close sometimes you'll get squeals and high frequency oscillation when cranking it up.
The mystery cap[ and gground wire aren't in the right spot to help with that problem, although the factory wiring looks like it could use a little help there as well.

I had the same problem with my build. But if all of the ground connections are connected on the ptp board, it's all good. Just unsolder the unused ground wire and Crank it..
