45/100 power board wiring

Post by frenchie » Fri Jun 06, 2008 9:42 pm

ok .....i documented myself a lot for my build ...but what i wan't to know (and which i obviously don't know for the moment!) is what you guys use to wire the 0.047 uf 1000v to the both diodes ....i had the idea of recycling the previously cut leads of my bc caps 33uf 450v rated ...will it work for you ?

And the other cloth wire we can find on this power board to link the 33ufs 450V is 22 awg standart right ? pink cable , heater wiring black cable , all those kind of wires will fit ?

All those connections on the power board are typically done with plain buss wire and a sleeve-type insulation cut to length between the turrets. Usually I use a long length of the buss wire so I can wrap it around each turret that gets connected, and add the sleeving in between before wrapping around the next turret.

thanks ....wen i looked at georges 45/100 power board i saw connection wires without insulation soldered to the 0.047 uf 1000v , so i thought about cut leads of caps because if those 33uf caps can handle 450v so their leads do .... ok so i'll go for insulated and non-insulated 18 gauge buss wire , good to know :)

PS; same for the preamp board underneath wiring ?? insulated buss wire too ??

Usually it's buss wire.

It's not to say you can't use the standard wire, because you can. Just typically it's buss wire.
