1.5k 1/2w pihers - do those look to be ok?

Dear forum members,

i found some used 1.5k 1/2w pihers for my 45/100 build. I have some 1.5k 1w pihers coming in, but afaik it was typically 1/2w pihers in the 45/100's. These are used, seller says they measure within spec. They are about 6$ each. I know it's impossible to tell from looks alone, but what do you say - are there no obvious signs of any issues visually on these? I see the upper one has a small spot where the paint has chipped off - could this be a sign that it was overheated or anything else, or should it be harmless? I'm getting a used 15k iskra from the same seller, as those seem to be impossible to find as pihers and also iskras seem to be rare. That one goes for 10$, has also some scratched paint and the leads are oxidated. Any reason (from visuals alone) not to buy any of those (except the crazy price for used parts)?

p.s. if anyone has nos 1.5k or 15k 1/2w pihers i'd be interested in those.

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

VintageCharlie

I wouldn't use 1k5s at all for safety reasons. use 4 5k6-10k grid resistors connected directely to pin 5

Btw. are there any good sounding metal films that look "piheresque"? :D I know NOS Beyschlag CF's are of a similar color and size, but i haven't seem them in the values i'm still missing.
How about the famed Beyschlag 0414's? in 1w - Are they blue or brown - i've seen pictures where they are brown and some where they are blue - which is correct? Might they be a good and reliable substitute for 1/2w pihers in 470ohm, 5.6k, 15k, 220k at 1w?
