In 2019, Bugatti signed a contract with Jacob & Co. to create unique watch models. These watches perfectly embody the spirit of both companies by making models of excellence.
To unlock this performance-driven partnership, we created two models. Based on the Twin Turbo Furious and Epic X Chrono, they are directly inspired by the unique design and spirit of Bugatti supercars. This year, Bugatti and Jacob & Co. present new watches from the Twin Turbo Furious collection, as well as a new collection, the Bugatti Chiron.

It all started with an idea from Bugatti and Jacob & Co.: How to reproduce the visceral feel of the famous Bugatti W16 engine in a watch. Cars and watches have always had a special connection. Many car enthusiasts also love watches. Both require extreme mechanical precision, combining beauty and performance in unique ways. However, watch movements have never really captured the feel, energy and power of a high-performance car engine. We have to accept the challenge.
A watch that pays homage to the Bugatti Chiron
After nearly a year of development, Jacob & Co. presents the Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon model, a tribute to the Chiron* and its legendary 16-cylinder engine. The dial is inspired by the Chiron's sleek lines, and the movement, or "engine block," designed to reproduce a Bugatti engine, sits beneath an imposing sapphire crystal.
Press the crown on the right side of the watch and the engine starts: the crankshaft turns and the pistons move, just like a real internal combustion engine. Two "turbochargers" on the side of the engine block (compared to four on the actual Chiron engine) spin during engine operation. The movement is composed of 578 elements, which was an extremely complex problem for the development team.

The otherworldly tourbillon movement has a new design. Jacob & Co. worked with its suppliers for over a year to realize this masterpiece. The top and sides of the watch are made of sapphire crystal, so every facet of the watch is visible at a glance. In the center, of course, is the engine block animation. The crankshaft that powers it is one of the smallest and most complex watch parts ever built, made from a solid single piece of steel. The movement is fully suspended in four positions and looks like the Chiron's actual shock absorbers. The movement actually floats inside the dial, bouncing up and down. Surrounding the engine block are two "exhaust pipes" that complete this engine-themed design.
Animations aside, the overall theme is purist and minimalist. Aside from the breezy tourbillon emblazoned with the Jacob & Co. logo, the only other branding on the front of the watch is the subtle EB logo on the engine compartment, with 16 pistons on the crankshaft, seated and ready for action. . The Jacob & Co. x Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon is a true wrist engine.
