Today I soldered pots. Tomorrow I am going to do tube sockets and input jacks.

Now the amp is finished! :champ:

I am going to inspect the wiring once or twice before I connect the amp to a dim-bulb tester.

Congratulations Prowler! Looks great! I bet this build went much easier than the first one didn't it?

Hello my friend! This build went much much easier than my first. It means a lot to me when you say that the build looks great. I better start reading though all your tips you gave me for firing it up with a dim bulb tester. I tried to Larry ground this one right from the start and I think I will try Michael/RT''s one wire mod once again.

I took some measurings today with only the preamp tubes installed. The amp was connected to a dim-bulb limiter while measuring.

Everything looks good. Voltages should come up when you remove the dim bulb tester. Congratulations!!

Thank you my friend! I just got the amp working and it sounds good. I played for an hour trying all the inputs and controls which seem to work fine. It was pretty quiet too when not playing.

The standby switch gave a loud pop when I was turning off the amp. I guess I will have to remember to turn all the volume knobs down or is there a way to fix this?

I think I will install the PPIMV before recording any clips.

You can place a capacitor across the standby switch to help prevent the pop. I can't remember the value but you can probably find it with a Google search.

I installed the PPIMV:

The amp needs more gain!

I think I will try the one-wire mod next.
