Hi Fine Folks of Metroland.
Building a 2204 and I am operating off of 2 diagrams - one is that of SDM and the other I am unsure of.
They slightly differ in the way the buss wire runs across the turret board, so in SDM's diagram it looks sort of JTM45-ish and the other looks identical to a 2203... there's only a difference of TWO points. And honestly they could be two ways of achieving the same thing, so while I am quite safe and have done this a few times before, I am not able to actually tell if this is the case.
Can anyone offer up the info on this? Thank you ever so much!

The two different layouts will work the same but you have to decide whether you are going with a board mounted preamp filter cap or chassis mounted. Marshall used both styles and your choice will depend on whether your chassis is punched for the cap or not.

Thank you, danman.
I am going with the diagram where the cap is under the board... it is, at any rate, going to be fully a player's amp - not going for any kind of historic correctness... in fact I decided, at the last minute, to go with a 2204 over a 2203 and the chassis is 2203 so there are holes everywhere. And to make matters more interesting I will be receiving a laydown transformer for a chassis that is expecting a standup.
Thanks again!
