Nick Kyprios is a sportscaster for hockey on Canadian TSN sports. He was livid about that call. He said that hit 10 years ago would have got you the MVP award.
Both players skates where pointed to both go behind the net. Totally a clean check. He stopped, reversed, turned his back to the player and backhanded the puck back around the corner. No way the guy could have stopped in time. Again the ref was in a bad position. Replay clearly showed it was legit. Turning your back to a player with a legal hit should not be a penalty. It's like slamming your car brakes on purpose waiting for a insurance payout rear-ender. It very well could have been a planned tactic to try a few times. LA does deserve to win, just not that way.

Oh well, I still have beer left I bought for Wednesday night. Gary Bettman can't take that away. But I wouldnt be surprised if he drank a few and put the caps back on. Little troll.
