worst poser moments in rock....

Post by dazzlindino » Thu Sep 26, 2013 2:57 pm

Have to say the biggest poser moment I have ever seen was... :hairband:
Rik Emmett .....
He had 2 kickass looking white marshall stacks in a roll around cage, with flashing lights ....
but when the roadies rolled the amp rack off stage....
the cabs and heads were empty!
all that was left was a little yamaha 2x12, which was hidden behind the fake marshalls....
ha ha...what a let down....
I want my music waking up the dead...
Dont tell me to turn it down

if its not loud enough you must be really old...huh,what,what did you play?

And he STILL was blowing away the other players!! Can you imagine if he would have had used FULL STACKS???

When you're that good, you don't have to hide behind a lot of gear...like some other players I could mention, but won't...

Yeah, that fake cab shit started with KISS in the '70's and only got worse. The bigger the band and venue the more fake boxes and EVERYBODY did it (or lied about what they were really using).

55 TRIUMPH
“Lay It on the Line”
Just a Game (1979)
GUITARIST: Rik Emmett

This is a good song…for me to poop on! Canada should apologize to America for foisting this comic dog of a band on us during the Seventies. Rik Emmett plods through vapid power chords before blasting into his solo with all the panache and finesse of a bulldog mounting a poodle. At best, Triumph were a B-grade version of Rush—Limbaugh, that is.

haha...on the worst 100 solos list.... :champ:

After seeing this, I can't conceive how any band would go to extent and trouble of putting on airs like that. The money that groups and/or individual musicians used to build these non-existent amps could have been used for purchasing the real deal. The idea must have been dreamt up by some poor misguided canuck. lol

I didn't know that Valerie Bertinelli was a canuck, I thought she was of italian descent. QF, I don't care who does the amp stack facade as its all prima donna shit anyway. When I saw 1964 The Tribute, Mark Benson (aka John Lennon) showed me a little cloned and mic'd AC-10 combo amp w/12" speaker that he used for the entire performance as opposed to using one or more AC-30's, So yes it is possible to get large sounds out of little amps in large environments. The only people who are impressed by the amp stacks are generally teeny boppers anyways.

I give Geddy Lee and Rush a 10 for originality here. Industrial dryers, and rotisserie chicken ovens, at least these guys know how to party and are highly functional individuals, they like to eat after a show and to have dry clothes to wear. lol
