Thanks for all of your help here and around the forums. I'm pretty much new at this, so reading your posts has been very educational for me.
Cheers!

Great, thanksaxeman wrote:Yes, that would be the decupling resistor. The instruction does mention the single decupling resistor and what to do. Leave as or replace with a 8.2K resistor. I you continue to have problems bring it over, I'm in Bellflower.
I think I'm gonna use a 68k and a 8k in series instead of the 75k.rd2play wrote:My board is revision 3A, and the guide for 3A says to use a 75K decoupling resistor for 429V (my voltage).
However, my kit is missing exactly the 75k resistor... Since I don't have a 75k, can I use a 68k? I probably shouldn't, but I was all fired up the finish it this weekend, and now I have to wait...
I did.axeman wrote:if I were you would read and learn the instruction to heart.

I have a couple amplifiers that I would like to be able to mix and match pre/power sections. Instead of using strictly for FX, it seems the Zero-Loss could be used for that purpose.
For example, one amp is a Peavey Roadmaster with a big clean power section (4x 6550 200W) but a so-so SS preamp. Meanwhile I have a small 5W amp kit with a nice british tube pre & tone stack. Both amps have Master Volumes.
So is it possible I could install a kit in each amp and then pass signal from the 5W pre to the Roadmaster power section? I realize layout and circuit design are a factor, I just want to make sure I'm not completely off my rocker.
If all this holds true, how about taking a Peavey Classic 30 (which has an FX loop already) and doing the same thing -- running from the CL30 preamp to the modded Roadmaster power section?
Generally, this can be done without any problems. Connect the external preamp unit to the amp's FX return.thechrisl wrote:...bump...thechrisl wrote:Hi all, I read through this thread and saw my question touched on a bit but I'm still not clear on something.

Been trying to locate a schem for the '70's Roadmaster SS preamp version, but no luck so far. Main problem there (as to adding a loop in it) is that I think the PI is SS too, so not sure if a ZL loop would fit in too well, what signal levels or such are involved there and other details I'd need to know.rd2play wrote:Generally, this can be done without any problems. I don't see why this wouldn't work with the Zero-Loss, but since my knowledge about input/output impedance is limited, hopefully someone more knowledgeable can chime in.
