George,

Good luck with the CPAP machine, I have obstructive and central apnea. I have been using my machine everynight since I got it 5 years ago. My machine was the first thing I packed when the wife and I came out to visit you!

Do you still have the picture with the 4 speaker cabs we stuffed into my Honda Fit?!

I think I have that pic on my phone still. It was classic!

I'm going in for septoplasty this morning. My septum deviates enough to cause well over 50% blockage.

They said that opening my airways should eliminate most or all of the hypopnea nd apnea events. I should be able to return the CPAP. But, by all accounts this week will be terribly uncomfortable with the stents in my nose. I'll be doped up pretty good I guess. I don't really like to take pills, have never taken a Vicodin or the like, so we'll see how it goes.

Hey George I read your posts, Sorry to hear abot your health woes but at least you are addressing them. I've been fighting the whole fatigue thing myself since my divorce in 09 and turning 40 in 2010. I attributed it to the 12 hour shift work and stress from various sources. There have been alot of people where I work getting the sleep studies done and it appears that quite a few need the CPAP, one guy stopping breathing 34 times an hour during the study. Yeah he needs the CPAP.

All my numbers look good like yours but years ago I was told I have a deviated septum as well, I'm sure that contributes to my sleep issues, it might be time to do the sleep study myself and get my nose checked out.

You're not alone in your issues George I guess we all need a little help on the heath side every now and then!

Keep up the good work! I'm glad you got a new attorney to many guys get bad ones and continually get steamrolled by the ex-wives and shitty court system where the women are viewed as poor little victims no matter what they have done or how they have behaved, so kudos to you for fighting back.

Hi George,

Hope you're feeling better. I had a bad painful bout of gastritis in Sept. which left me 20lbs lighter (on a good note). It sucks getting old!

The recovery from Septoplasty was harder than I anticipated. I ran a borderline high fever for four days. Couldn't really function too much, let alone get any work done.

Most of the swelling has gone now and it's healing up. I do think I can breathe better. I've been sleeping really good, so that' a plus.

Ouch, that's not what we wanted to hear. Hopefully you'll begin to see and feel some proper results soon.
Take care, George.

George-

Your post didn't fully explain things. Did you get the Deluxe Naso-Plasty with the Michael Jackson Signature Removable Tip?

George, some years ago I had a sinus roto-rooter job, along with the septum, and had crazy stuff coming out 10 days later as well! Didn't have a fever, but felt like crap. Hope you feel much better soon!

I'm happy to say that my breathing and sleeping has been better than ever! Septoplasty sucked, but the result was worth it. I have not used the CPAP machine in months. Follow up sleep study recorded 62 apnea events in one night of sleep, 59 of which occurred while I was sleeping on my back. Which I never do.

Today I seen a GI specialist and we will start working out my digestive issues. Symptoms seem to indicate IBS or Celiacs disease and possibly some food allergies. Hopefully these issue can be addressed as well as the sleep stuff was.

I just spent my third night with my CPAP machine and feel so much more rested and energetic. Turns out I had untreated severe obstructive sleep apnea for over 10 years. Runs in my mom's side of the family- had it even back when I was skinny and finally got to the point where I had trouble functioning at school clinicals and was always dozing off at movies and after meals. As a student nurse we covered it in class, and I had nearly every symptom. My SPO2 was 85% and I had 87 obstructive events per hour. I'm already starting to feel like a new man. If anyone has this, get treated. You'll thank yourself for doing it. I tried the mask, but settled on these i-pod-like dual nasal inserts (nosebuds?). They work the best for me with the least leakage. For the first time in a long time I'm breathing all night through my nose now while sleeping.
