Where to Buy Quality Transformers in Europe
As we all know all those great and very musical amp transformers are usually from USA what about the Europe?
Looking for marshall and fender style transformers or even custom made specs one.
So are there any quality transformer makers in Europe that make the amp sing
Thanks!!!

what a shame... it's annoying to buy USA parts due to customs and taxes...MacGaden wrote:He is going out of business, lots of stories about backorders..Carbia wrote:Haven't tried, but I read many positive reviews about these trannies: https://www.ig-transformatoren.com

Quality stuff. He was making transformers on his spare time outside of his regular job but he has enough.MacGaden wrote:He is going out of business, lots of stories about backorders..Carbia wrote:Haven't tried, but I read many positive reviews about these trannies: https://www.ig-transformatoren.com

I think I would go for a Classictone if I have to buy American, otherwise it will be too expensive.

Re: Where to Buy Quality Transformers in Europe
Any news regarding transformers made in European will be appreciated very much.
Otherwise tips for buying US made with lowest import duties to European, also very much useful.
Such a pitty IG has stopped sales...
I have just blown my '76 Marshall Super Lead 100w...
What do I get if I order a Marshall replacement tranny from my local Marshall dealer? European made? Very different from the original I saw going into smoke?

Danbury Transformers here in the UK make a fair few suitable trannies. But I tend to buy Heyboer or Mag. Comp.
So I like purple, okay!!!!!!

That's correct, unfortunately. These transformers were great.MacGaden wrote:He is going out of businessCarbia wrote:Haven't tried, but I read many positive reviews about these trannies: https://www.ig-transformatoren.com
The trannies sold under the Tube Town label (www.tube-town.de) are getting very good reviews.
Cheers Stephan

Re: Where to Buy Quality Transformers in Europe
Try one of these:
http://livinginthepast-audioweb.co.uk/i ... rmrclassic
http://www.transformers.uk.com/valve-au ... nsformers/
Used the top one on a couple of small builds (champ and a 18 watt TMB) - seem pretty good thus far!
Also like MM & Heyboer (obviously) but I do find Magnetic Components (http://www.magneticcomponents.net/) Classictone range good too and not as bank breaking as the MM's
Hope some of that helps!
