digging through the record crate and came across some old heaven. Always loved the guitar tone on this lp. Sounds like 50w 4 hole marshall / great balance of smooth and crunch. no bass to the tone, all mids and upper mids. probably les paul/paf.
especially like the upper mids and it sounds a lot like the sylviania 12ax7's. It's a tube that cuts the low end and emphasizes the upper mids in a creamy distorted way. My guess is el34/Sylvania 12ax7/50w plexi with an old marshall cab. sounds like the marshalls running on 220v also. Whenever I hear this kind of smooth rich marshall tone it seems it's a 220v recorded album.

here's another raw old metal tone that shows what can be done when you get rid of the bass on your lead guitar tone. someday this kind of tone will come around again when kids realize bass does not equal heavy

Interested as to what differences you hear in tone between 120 and 220?? I've always wondered. But have never played on 220.

Thin lizzy had some great irish boogies but here's my favorite irish metal riff. I sdont see how it can get any heavier than this! Crank it up, if you got a copy of the LP! VINYL IS KING !
