Have any one tried, listened or compared audio grade transformers with a new or old guitar type transformers? Brands like James, Hashimoto, Silk, Tango, Tamura or others...

I've had a chance to compare two 50 watters - a original Marshall lead plexi and a clone with Hi-FI Audio trannies. It wasn't apples to apples because the clone had different brand of caps (coupling and filtering) and tubes etc, but I remember the clone being much brighter, harsher, tighter and punchier, kinda like a mix of older style amp and a new modern high gain amp (5150)...
