Does it sound like 50 watt? Sound clips

Post by guitarist1977 » Thu Jul 16, 2015 1:33 pm

Hi Everybody.

I have finished and tested my 50 watt build. Here is the clips that I made. Does they sound like 50 watt to you?

https://soundcloud.com/alexander-drobit ... -humbucker
https://soundcloud.com/alexander-drobit ... aul-bridge
https://soundcloud.com/alexander-drobit ... neck-clean

The settings are the same for all clips

Bright channel, Presence, Bass, Mid and Treble are on noon, Volume on 11 :)

For strat clean i just backed off volume on guitar.

Alex.

Basically it is metro amp kit except that I ordered capacitors and tube sockets from a different source. I used classic tone transformers.

Also my advice don't try to save on tube sockets and order them from metro amp. I have two bad tube sockets which I need to replace.

Yeah, I usually go ceramic but I went belton on the preamp tubes and ceramic on the power tubes this time. I have the Classic Tone OT and like the change it made from the Traynor Hammond OT I had in there.

Sounds good. I don't use anything close to thoses settings though. I like Mids treble and Bright Vol all on 11 and everything else on 0.
