Weird crakling noise

Post by cybertop77 » Thu Aug 13, 2015 1:11 pm

Hi everyone,

I have a problem on my 50w kitt.

On the channel 1 all is normal, on the channel 2, too. But when i plug my guitar on the both channels I have a weird "farting" noise... Less volume... If i put the treble and the presence on 0, the weird sound disappears...

Thus, I changed my pots, and now, the weird sound appears also in the channel one alone... I tried to switch the preamp tubes and the power tubes.. But nothing changes...

Many thanks in advance!

We will probably need several clear pics of the tone control wiring, tube sockets and turret board to help make a diagnosis. Could be a wiring or ground mistake or possibly just a lead dress problem. Have you tried switching out the preamp tubes with known, good tubes to be sure that you don't have a faulty one?

I tried to move my pots... When the presence is on 10, the noise disappears.
