I don't want to change your mind......but you are wrong ......34 and 36 sound the same with all speakers....same greenback approach.....just change eq on mids like a post production eq.......the taste of head voicing is the same......

34 sound like greenback approach also with V30....470n on 820 is the real guilty......move the mids in a greenback range voicing

Benny you can say want you want, but G12H30 75hz are the right speakers, get yourself some nice nos Mullards, pre & power, 70s G12H30 75hz speakers, 70s JMP 100w amp, then you will find the real 36 mod, its not really that hard, you just need the right gear, forget all these fixed bright caps, three shield tricks, 250p33k ts, no bright cap, 10k third & .1u on the pres.

Here is the real tone, well for me anyway,

Nos Mullards pre & power, 76 JMP 100w, 70s G12H30 75hz speakers, this setup still gets the tone 30 years later, & I'm just recording it in my living room lol,

  pimpin sample!!! I was at a local guitar shop last night. I saw a vintage g12h30 on the wall, but 55hz... :x

How is it possible this thread / debate is still going?

This is not a rhetorical question... I'm genuinely interested to learn the answer. I've been away for a few years, come back and Benny is still talking about greenbacks and bright caps?! You say a G12H30 and V30 are similar? On what planet my friend?

This has probably been answered already but we're over 10,000 posts... enlighten me. The circuit from years back is as close as it's ever going to get. Moving the mic a half inch makes more difference than these minute changes, so what exactly are you guys hoping to achieve?

We all understand that the sound on the record could be equalised up to four times right? This is pretty typical from tracking to mastering. Not attacking anyone, and merry xmas guys. :toast:

in this planet V30 is a derivate of g12h30, don't sound the same, and g12h30 don't sound like greenback in every planet.....greenback sound is greenback sound.....not g12h30 sound......

Benny you really need to stop making a fool of yourself, everyone & you know that Celestion in the 60s put greenback covers on both the M & H type speakers, that's why i have also said which greenback type i was talking about, G12H30 75hz the H type, but the M type greenback also sound good with my spec.

M & H type sound the same?......you have say blackback or i mistakes?

blackback isn't greenback.....don't sound like greenback....your mod can be sound good with both speakers.....but not sound afd.....it's a good sound.....but isn't afd sound......a good mod sound good with all speakers......so probably you have make a good mod

I am able too to find discrepancies in what you write......is easy......perhaps you will sell more or less mods.....but I do not care.......if we think without doing business i'm always available

Nice you have found my Homepage :)

If you had taken the time to read my front page you would have read this sentence,

"As you have found your way to my homepage, I take it you are looking for an alternative and I would like to introduce my DUKE AMPS hobby to you"
