It was supposedly a quote of Frank Levi. BRBS is not the closest sounding to me. BRBS did capture the sound at one point but lost it and never got it back.
I also think the .1uF sucks. It is too thin. #34 is actually too thin, so the .68uF presence works good. Also, remember #34 had the bright cap on a switch according to the Santiago scheme. I'd have the 150k on a switch too.
The unprocessed, #36 MK V was very likely fatter and more Fender like than most think. Most everyone shoots for the processed tone. Listen to the beginning of "My Michele" and "Don't Cry" in the Ritz video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75NEcJL ... e=youtu.be
I was talking about the .1 cathode cap, not the presence cap

Did anyone make a sound clip between #36 with normal TS vs 250p/56k TS?
I like the 56k on my amps because it smooths a little mids for the clean channel (plexi style)

the 100w have much higher voltages than the 50w. Amps in this period often have 460-470v on the plates on the 100w modelssonoman1979 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 12, 2017 6:44 pmHi guys, do you know what should be the B+ voltage on power tubes and PI node on a 77' JMP super lead? Thanks

Thanks, any idea about the voltage on the phase inverter node?Roe wrote: ↑Tue Nov 14, 2017 2:41 pmthe 100w have much higher voltages than the 50w. Probably around 320V if you scale these down. http://www.mhuss.com/MyJCM/JCM800_2204.gif
Yes, #10 is 300V to 330V depending on the amp model http://www.ampspecs.com/wp-content/uplo ... matics.gif

Hi,
I need to replace a couple of 47uf 450v aluminum electrolytic capacitor on the preamp section. Must be radial and no more than 18mm of diameter. I would like to know if anybody knows wich series of Nichicon should be best for this application.
I'm planing to buy this on mouser.
Thecnical support on mouser told me that I should choose caps that offer more hours of life and high ripple current, is that correct?
Thanks.
