My buddy is finally selling the old 1976 Marshall Lead and Bass 50-watt Combo that I should have never let go of (LOL). It has 6550 tubes and sounds HUGE. Too bad he's selling for over 3 times what I sold it for years ago. I picked it up at the Kansas City Guitar Show for $500 (I KNOW) and sold it for the same 'because it wasn't hi-gain enough...' Anyway, he's asking $1800 and hoping to get $1500. Too rich for my blood. I at least get a few good pictures of my old amp from the CraigsList ad. Check it out: http://kansascity.craigslist.org/msg/5664535604.html
I e-mailed my friend and suggested he add a gut-shot of the circuit board to the ad. It's a printed circuit board, but still from 'the good old days' of Marshall history. I'd like to see it myself recorded for posterity...
A year and a half later and once again, IT'S MINE!!!!!
My buddy called out of the clear blue to shoot the sh*t. I sorta off the cuff mention 'the old Marshall' towards the end of the conversation, like always.
He says, "Oh, yeah... that's actually the reason I called. I hardly ever play anymore, and I'm selling a bunch of gear..."
To make a long story short, I bought it back! FOR $750!!
I will NOT make the mistake of selling it again. My friend told me if I 'mod' it, he'd track me down and kick my ass!
It's a 2x12 combo with original factory Greenbacks or Blackbacks (green I believe) and checkerboard grille. First year of black/red-lit power toggle switches, 4 inputs, like Super Lead. Takes Pedals GREAT!
