Hi guys,
would someone be kind enough and point me to an authentic #36 and and another #34 layout so I can build these myself?
The old layouts seem to have been removed.
I'd really appreciate it, if someone could post these again.
Thank you in advance

Re: S.I.R. 100W SuperLead Schematic pt. II
Has anyone here successfully used a "THD Hotplate" with either the #34 or the #36 mod?? If so, can I get some input as to functionality and tone coloration? Did anyone experience any adverse affects using one of these?
I've heard stories about people burning up diodes using this attenuater.
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I've had a THD Hot Plate for years and never fried diodes.
I cannot be specific to #34 or #36 buy of course there will be tone compromises using ANY Attenuator. In terms of playing out live and being functional, the tone concessions are manageable given the benefit.
I have resorted to using PPIMV for all my builds. I think it it's more true to the tone than the HotPlate.

I'd have to agree with ya here. I've been using a PPIMV for about 6 years now, and it's the single most practical mod anyone could do to their amp. Not only does it allow you to play at bedroom levels with Master Volume cranked to 8, it greatly increases the life of the power tubes.
Attenuators can over work your amp, leading to burned rectifier diodes, buy it can also red plate your power tubes which is never a good thing. You can't get an accurate Slash #34 tone without a PPIMV or an attenuator.

Based on the collective knowledge base here in this forum, I thought where better to pose this question...
Does anyone know what 6550s available on the market today, come the closest to the 6550s that Slash uses in the #34??
I've been using the Tung Sol 6550's with great results, but if there's a tube out there that'll get me even closer to the tone of the #34, well....why not???
Thanks in advance to all that reply.

Re: S.I.R. 100W SuperLead Schematic pt. II
Thanks for the reply.
I have some JJ 6550s, but I'm not impressed with em. I would definitely have to say that the Tung Sol 6550s sound way better than the JJs.
What I'm really looking for is a power tube that will closely resemble (sonically) the Chinese coke bottle tubes that we see in the #34. Having only experienced the Tung Sols and JJs, I'm pretty much dependent on other peoples experiences.

Re: S.I.R. 100W SuperLead Schematic pt. II
HI,
I've done #36 mod on my 2013 JCM800 2203X and it sounds really good, but I have a problem (I think I had this problem before modding the amp too, but it wasn't this bad), when I connect my pedals in front of the amp they make the amp sound really thin, they make my humbuckers sound like single coils.
I used my MXR EQ, BOSS RC-3 and TC Electronic HoF 2 and they all make the amp sound thin. Is this normal?
Also when I try to measure the 1Meg ohm input grid leak resistor through my guitar cable it measures 1Meg ohm, but when I turn the amp on (just the power switch) it drops to 27K ohm. Is this normal on JCM800? because when measure this resistor on my Laney CUB12R (which is a clone of JCM800) it measures 1Meg ohm even when the amp is on. Could this be related to problems with pedals too?
Thanks.
