Hi guys,
Happy New Year!
Can you guys please recommend replacement pickups for my Fender Sambora Strat (alder body) with Floyd Rose Tremolo bridge? The guitar is currently stock and is equipped with two Fender Texas Special singlecoils (neck/middle) and a Dimarzio PAF Pro in the bridge. As expected with many Fender strats, the tone tends to be on the bright side (bordering on thin sounding). The Dimarzio PAF Pro just doesn

Hey, I like that guitar for a super strat like the HM Series ! Don't care for the Star inlays.
The two Fender Texas Special's are cool....The PAF Pro is fired !
With an exception of DiMarzio's Virtual Vintage Series those pickups carry a certain "stain" on them
that ya can't rinse off.
Your range is from 70

I've been stringing this guitar with 10-46 gauge strings (D'Addario EXL110 XL). My signal path is uasually very simple. From the guitar, it goes through a overdive (modded ts9, SD1 or MXR ZW) and maybe a Boss DD-3 delay. The amps are usually Marshalls or clones, '69 plexi, jcm800.St August wrote:Also Important to know. What amp are you using?gauge of strings? any inline Pedals etc... And as Jimi said sound clips .. these thing will better help getting you in the right direction
I've had great tones from all my Gibson guitars (es335, LP Custom, '58 ri LP) through this setup. Fenders are almost a totally differnt animal compared to Gibsons.

It's all about soundclips, what JimiJames and St. August suggested. I find myself on http://www.bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/ check the "Players" area for tons of clips with Bareknuckle Pickups...boutique p/u's. I'd second the WCR based on rockstah's Darkburst clips, but there are many variables as mentioned before. A pickup one guy thinks is great, another could think sounds like shit so remember that it's up to your ears Good luck

Thats why he dont like your inlays
So.... I should rip out the stars and replace them with *JIMI*. Maybe that would make the guitar sound better ......
Thanks for the suggestions.
