Correct hook up wire for Marshall & where to buy it?
Now that the Metro Amp store is closed where do I get the correct hook up wire? I was fortunate enough to find a 2203 PTP metro board on ebay but it needs the wires and I was going to change the mallory caps to Sozo's. Thought maybe I could get the Sozo's from Tube Depot but I'm not sure about their wire. Would like to keep it as close to the stock Marshall wire as possible but don't know where to get it. Need to know where to purchase and what type and guage. Also what guage is the buss wire? (just so I know) Thanks!

If you look at the wiki for the instructions for the 100 watt MV amp, they have all the parts listed including the wire gauge.

Try turretboards.com - I've ordered Sozos and wire from them. I'm pretty sure the hookup wire is 22g stranded 600v. The buss wire is 18g & also 22g - hope that helps.

Thanks, looks like 22 gauge for the most part.Pete Richardz wrote:If you look at the wiki for the instructions for the 100 watt MV amp, they have all the parts listed including the wire gauge.
That should work and I noticed they added some new colors. I just hope they will sell by the foot as they only show 50' roll prices for the new colors. If you only need short pieces, let me know how much of each color. I only have the 22 AWG right now.

I will keep that in mind. I need to order Sozo's anyway and Tube Depot has .20 gauge pvc stranded in (9) colors for .20 cents per foot and I think I will need 10' of each color plus a little buss wire. I'll be in touch if that doesn't work out. Thanks Sparky!Sparky wrote:If you only need short pieces, let me know how much of each color. I only have the 22 AWG right now.

I'm looking into that now. I think metro uses .22 guage and Tube Depot has .20 gauge but that should work. Thanks!54strat wrote:Tube Depot has the same teflon wire Metro uses.

Thanks "jz", Turretboards.com or Watts Audio does not sell .22 gauge pvc by the foot at this time so I'm leaning towards 20 gauge at Tube Depot.jz wrote:Try turretboards.com - I've ordered Sozos and wire from them.
