Went with 7.6K A3's for the neck winds, just got one dropped into my Les Paul. I just put my son down for a nap, so I can't run it through the Marshalls/Metros. I went with the Bandmaster for a low volume spin instead.
These neck winds are really crisp and articulate. The 7.6K output actually let me raise the pickup slightly above the mounting ring for a change, instead of dumping it down as low as it would go in the hole. The top end has a nice chime to it without being too much like a single coil, and the mids and lows are punchy but not muddy, at least through the clean Bandmaster. The tone control can actually serve a purpose for the neck pickup from the sound of it, I can roll it down for that smooth jazz sound instead of having dark mud as my starting point.
I can't wait to crank these through the two JTM Metros!!!
