Line 6 Pod Pro DEAD
While my Carvin was down, I turned to this Pod I had used 3 times, it sounded decent through the PA. I hadn't used it since Oktoberfest. I had bragged about it, and then left it sitting there alone in my room. I pulled it out, plugged it in and, what do you know, amp #3 goes down this year. Maybe I am radioactive. When I turn it on, there is no sign of life, not even from the first second, it didn't even go on to blow a fuse. Just a dead silence, no LED's, nothing. I open it up, boy it looks like a computer inside. I have now looked at every post on the web about this wonderful and expensive amp (sarcasm). It seems straight from line 6 tech help they say, buy a used one on ebay, it's cheaper and way quicker than fixing it. I have seen behringer POS's go on forever, and now I read about these PODS and all I hear is they go down, I wish I knew that when I bought it, it sure sounded good through the headphones. I estimate it costs about a hundred a day to play one though. Anyone have any experience with these? There is an inside fuse, it is fine. There is a battery looking thing, line six says is not a battery and it won't budge. Everything else is chips and computer mother board. Line six says it is usually the board, 6 months and 200 bucks. But this is not the first one I heard of that went down while not in use. With a computer you at least see a fan, any ideas?

Re: Line 6 Pod Pro DEAD
Sorry to say but my experience with Line 6 gear has been horrible. I don't buy any Line 6 gear due to crappy support and horrible reliability. You are better off buying used than repairing but may end up with another dead unit down the road. My XT Live died, expression pedal malfunction, three days after the warranty was up and Line 6 would do absolutely nothing about it even though I contacted them two months earlier about the problem. Prior to that was a Flextone amp, constant loss of presets and malfunctions three months past warranty, and three DL4's malfunctioning within an hour of using them for the first time, ended up getting a Boss DD20 and have had zero issues in 5-6 years. Add the failures that friend's have experienced and it totals up to 18 or so Line 6 products failing. Not a good track record IMO.
