Post by sdlogan9 » Thu Dec 26, 2013 6:38 pm

So I need to purchase a Power Transformer for my 65 Blackface Bassman..

I want the best! What is your opinions? If you have tried many of the manufacturers out there!

Paper or plastic? Paper - Heyboer, Classic Tone by Magnetic Components (OR) Plastic - Mercury Magnetics

I'd just try to find a good working Fender BF Schumacher PT replacement, if that doesn't pan out, I'd go with a Classic Tone # 40-18005 @ around $70.20

I was hoping for a transformer that did not require a chassis cutout.. Any exact replica drop in's?

Thanks

I think that's drop in compared to these dimensions given on this page: http://www.vibroworld.com/parts/tech5.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

EZS is correct, the Classic Tone should be an exact drop in replacement for your Schumacher PT. Just drop an email or call Classic Tone if you're still not sure.
