fender mod help
I need to know how to do two things on my 68 fender bandmaster head. I would like to remove the vibrato from the vibrato channel because I never use it and I don't like the signal loss it creates. Second, I would like to add a mid control the vibrato channel using one of the existing pots for the vibrato. Does anyone know how to do this? I have a schematic and a layout for the amp if anyone needs it. Thanks

Daniel,
Replace the 6.8k Mid resistor on the bass pot with a 10k Audio taper Pot. One side goes to ground and a wire from where the resistor connected goes to the middle lug of the 10k Audio taper pot.
To kill the Vibrato, simply remove the wire (Yellow?) on the right hand lug of the Intensity control (looking from ther back of the amp); it's the one on the side that's not grounded. Unsolder it and tape it up.
If you decide to replace the Speed pot with the mid control then connect the wire on the right hand of the Spped pot to a 100k resistor going to ground. You could also just dissconnect it and pull the Vibrato tube.
