Hi GuysI just bought a Bogner Ubershall Twin Jet. I have connected my TC Electronics G Force. And the problems is....
when l turn up the master volume it starts to clip the TC Unit. If l turn down the mix knob on the back of the Bogner it turns down the volume of the whole amp, so l press on the stomp box and by-pass the effects there is a huge difference in the volume of the amp without effects to with the effects. I am frustrated as when l use it in the VHT Ultra Lead there is non of this problem. I have been told to put up the in and out signal of the TC but l have done that.

Re: Bogner XTC fx loop volume and tone drop
Hi!
Although I play XTC I know that TC units are generally quite hard to set up with all Bogner amps. I don't know how the loop works in Uberschall but if You are able to set it series or paralell You could at first check if change in that matter solves a problem.
You might also want to search an Ecstasy section in Bogner Amp Forum (http://bognerampforum.informe.com) as it was discussed some time ago. As far as I remember there was also the discussion in that matter in RigTalk's Bogner section (http://www.rig-talk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=59). Sorry but currently I can;t find those topics.
Regards, Andy

Re: Bogner XTC fx loop volume and tone drop
It will always be a balancing act with that amp. The uber's loop is in the signal path at all times, and part of the tone, and from memory there is no padding besides the MV to either the loops input, or the ability to adjust the send level out of the send driver, so if you turn up the OD master volume higher, you will just clip the effects unit input.Yngve wrote:Hi GuysI just bought a Bogner Ubershall Twin Jet. The mix knob is really a post loop global master volume.
Here are your options:
1)install a send level control to pad the signal to the unit. (may not be the easiest to do)
2)use the channel MV to set the send level for the FX, adjust the strenght of the effects via the unit, and then use the Mix/global master to control the volume of the whole amp (probably was the intent behind the design)
3)play Dry.

Why in the hell did Reinhold design the amp like this, what are the benefits?

I dunno, Reinhold is a strange one, and it is not because he doen't any better, he does. He did a similar thing to the Shiva, the return stage of the loop on that one is a cold clipper it was an R&D mistake, but liked the sound, so he kept it that way for the production amp.Yngve wrote:Why in the hell did Reinhold design the amp like this, what are the benefits?
