Thanks for sharing your build pics and great sound clips
Most people associate Dumbles with Ford, and I personally think it would be great for Beck, Cause We Ended as lovers type stuff too,. Some of those clips even sounded allmost like Scott Henderson type stuff. (Dolemite/snake Soda type stuff) All that stuff is great.
but if I built a Dumble Clone, it would be to pursue it more along the lines of how SRV used them, and to get the tone of "The Telephone Song" more specificly.
Everywhere I read that early he used Jackson Browns Dumble ODS early on, but then latter had Howard Dumble build him a Steel String singer.
Which is suposedly a SVT power Section, twin reverb pre, with Super Twin OT. with EF86.
I started a thread about the Steel String Singer in the amp GArage about it, but it's just at the pipe dream stage. There's a few different descriptions of how to go about it, so I'm not sure whioch way to go yet. But eventually I want to build that amp. An SRV - SSS in between my EVH- 12000 and Sickenson Spec - JTM 45/100 is my kind of wall of tone.
I can put my 67 Super revrb in there too.
This thread is making me want to get my feet wet in the Dumble pool. This looks like a pretty easy kit to build. I bet some things might be similiar to other Dumbles, and maybe I can tweak to get the exact tone I'm trying to get.
I really liked the Scott Henderson type licks, and like to hear more in the Hendrix/SRV type feel to see how this amp does that, or if it can can get close enough to tweak it to that.

The fault almost always is sitting in front of the amp

Re: A little change of pace...D' Lite?
I always wondered about trying local feedback in different amps .. fender or marshall.
It basically tightens up the bottom end, right?
