You dont see many Vox kits around because the original chassis is hard to make and shaped strangely, the layout is very awkward and the vibrato circuitry is quite extensive. Youd have to do a bit of customizing and make your own version. The thing is the vibrato is a big part of the AC30 sound because it feeds the PI in a unique way and dials in the unique midrange. The only one I know who does any Vox stuff is Hoffman and he removes the vibrato. Nik at ceriatone.com has vox kits based on the Hoffman design without the vibrato. You could go ahead and build it yourself using the original factory schems which are widely available online. Youd have to go ahead on your own with the chassis and cab unless you can find them used. Several people make Bluesbreaker Combo cabs which you can modify the dimensions to be like the smaller AC30 size and use a JTM chassis like those in the Bluesbreakers. You could just stick with the BB size cab as well. Using the JTM type chassis would work very well. You could do a head version. I rather like building heads instead of combos. Im probably one of the few people out there whov done an AC30 clone but I did it without the vibrato, with an AC30/4 normal channel, a top boost channel and in a head. If you do find anyone who does a kit for an AC30 Id be pretty amazed. If you have the skill theres no reason not to design and build it yourself.

Ted Weber does a Vox AC30 type chassis - he includes the two section chassis and the facplate. Look like a major PITA to build!

The AC30HW was laid out like am Marshall. (You could call it the first Marshall HW, since it was built by them..)

By all accounts it sounds great, but it looks nothing like an original AC30 inside:

I haven´t gotten around to building one yet.. Maybe I´ll find the time sometime, but in the meantime it would be great if someone would make all the mistakes for me..

The AC30HW above was designed by Tony Bruno from Bruno Amps. I have not heard it but there are a few owners on
TGP. Reports are that it is a fine sounding amp but doesn't sound like an old AC30. I have thought about doing a conversion on an English made AC30 reissue from a few years ago but they sound so good stock it probably isn't worth it.

the weber kit is supposed to be the best kit around. its based on the 1965 top boost SCHEMATIC (including the tremolo circuit), but the layout is changed. I've been thinking about buying the weber kit (6v30) and using a MM OT, sozos/mustards, and CC resistors

i would like to have a go at making the marshall version of the vox ac30hw if any body could supply me with the circuit diagram that would be great.
The pictures that MacGaden has posted are a good starting point for the build
and somehow i dont think i could afford the cost of one of these new or second hand lol
