Wizard amps Vintage Classic

My friend bought a Wizard Vintage Classic not long ago. Nice sounding amp, but to me it's not better then a bunch of other Plexi replica, the 68 MEtroamp is way better, but that's my opinion. What I don't understand is the price of the Wizard amps. 4300$ for the 100W Vintage Classic. It sound like a joke to me. Anyway, what do you think about thoses amps ?

and the modern classic cost 4700$, and it looks like some kind of Marshall Jubilee copy. On the other hand, Reeves make very nice Hiwatt copy, and tou can get one for 1800$. You can buy a 68 Metroamp and a Reeves Custom 100 for less then a single Wizard Vintage Classic head. There'S something that I don't understand.

Supply and demand the keystone of modern economics. The builder is the amp tech for AC/DC so he is on the road half of every year and in that time nothing gets built. Then the pent up demand and road cred kicks in to drive up the price. He can only and wants to only build x number of amps, all of those things contribute to short supply. Anyway that's enough economics 101.

The modern classic is not based on the jubilee ? Ok, you must be right, someone else told me it was... But I had no proof

But the price was right, Rick just gave me that price a few days ago, 4700$ for the Modern Classic.

Im almost positive Metallica were using Wizard MCs for a while and I dont think they sounded Jubileeish. It may be a rumor that has some basis in truth (maybe similar in one area who knows) but they dont sound like jubilees.

I've owned 2 Wizard Modern Classic heads...a 50 and a 100 and they both sounded killer! Superb quality build and workmanship goes into these amps.

Yes maybe, but at 4700$ is way too overpriced... maybe if it was between 2700$ and 3200$, but not 4700$

That's my opinion, I'm sure some people will tell that they worth 4700$, but I will never pay that much for that amp we I can get a 68 Metroamp for 2350$

Ill tell you I have some experience with getting stuff that has a huge waiting list and time to be delivered. The used price on ebay is sometimes a 50% profit. People actually buy the things sometimes just to sell them and make money. If someone wants one now and has the money to pay for it, they will.
