Bruno Amps / Dr.Z Amps

Not sure this is a Bruno amp or Brad Paisley's Dr.Z amp, but the tone here is amazing!

I can get very close to this tone using my Metro JTM45 and my Strat though a Marshall straight cab with G12-H and Greenbacks. The 'thunk' with that just on-the-edge of distortion 'twang' is what I am looking for in my next amp. You know that feel when you dig in and can play with the headroom but the amp feels so strong and the bottom is just so complex and warm with those magical overtones.

Of course it doesn't hurt to have a 60's Tele in hand as well... :D

Very inspiring tone.

I had a forum member's Bruno Cowtipper here to mod a while back, and it was the coldest, most sterile take on a Fender Twin Reverb I'd ever heard (silverface TR's sounded much better to my ears!!!)

We changed the way the preamp was loaded down (Bruno had it simulating the missing Vibrato section) installed SoZos throughout, changed the OT and wired the power amp to blonde Twin specs with a presence control, really brought that amp to life with sparkle and grind that it was completely missing in its original form. (Shouldn't have been necessary in an amplifier of that absurd price range.)

What did you think about the Bruno's build quality?

The few I have seen the insides of looked like a kid wired them.

I've seen a couple pic's of the inside of a Bruno amp that looked rather 3rd-world engineered.

The amp in that video is a Bruno Cowtipper. I have a Bruno Underground 30 that I just love. It's the best clean tone I've ever heard, and the reverb sounds amazing. It does have a nice creamy distortion, but I honestly prefer the gain tone of my Mod 5. I can't speak about the build quality because I'm certainly no amp tech. But I've never had any problems with it. It'll be a really cold day in Hades before I even consider selling it.
