I just got ahold of an early Randall RG100ES. Yup solid state.. :hide: ...but its a bad ass. Not ahamed to admit it. Easy to get a good sound out of (metal anyway) and VERY loud. I never realized they were as loud as they are. The clean channell sucks, but other than that, Im liking it (for playing gainy heavy stuff). I put an Aphex Big Bottom Xciter in the loop..Woah... scary.

Who else used these back in the day, aside George Lynch? I know Dimbag did, and Kirk from Crowbar still does. Know of any recordings these things made it onto?

the strumming guitarist in tragically hip used one his whole career I think and got great rich tubey tones....not metal though.
