Modding an Epiphone So-Cal 50 H - inputs needed

So, I just pulled the trigger on a used mint condition Stinger STP 50 HV tube head, which is nothing but a re-branded Epiphone So-Cal 50 H... An Italian store was selling it for 120€, which is by far the lowest price I've ever seen a 50w tube head go for, so I just had to!
(I can't even get a set of 50w transformers for that kind of money...)

Well, I have tried one of these in the past, so I know they aren't exactly great sounding, but the components don't look all THAT bad, and the schematic, while pretty "strange" here and there, has potential...
This is what I have in mind as a start:

... As you can see, all the changes are in the preamp area, PI, PA & power supply look pretty standard (and therefore good) to me - and I don't know much about reverb circuits, though this one looks pretty standard as well (maybe just replace its two 12AX7 with 12AT7s?)...

Opinions, ideas, inputs?

It arrived yesterday... I must admit I'm surprised, components and build quality are much better than I expected!

... Notice the scratched off Epiphone writings!

I thought about picking one of these up to mod. Good news about the build quality
