68 fender bandmaster!
I just got a 68 bandmaster for $300 bucks off e-bay. My amp tech blackfaced it for me and hooked me up with some nos general electric 6l6 tubes for 30 bucks. This thing sounds amazing. It takes away some of the sadness of my marshall being out of comission at the moment. Its got a different tone for sure, but I love it. Just thought I'd share my joy, especially about the ge 6l6 tubes.

They're very different than a Marshall for sure, but I love my early Silverface '67 Bandmaster. I find them to be one of the "chimiest" of the sixties Fender heads. Distorts just enough to be thick, and you can crank them up without getting thrown out of a club on your arse.
The only thing I don't like is that they like to ghost-note with heavier overdrive. I aded 80uF of filtering to my power supply, and it's too much, too tight. I'm gonna try just 40uF and see what happens. (For reference, my sixties Bassman heads work best with 100uF added to the power supply!!)
