Morley Power Fuzz Wah repair?

Post by ghettoshelf » Sat Jul 14, 2012 10:58 pm

I have a Morley Power Fuzz Wah that needs work.Is there someone who can make the old Tel Ray pedals work right that is trustworthy to send them to?Or what would be ideal is to find someone in Austin,Texas.Thanks.

What is wrong with it ? Does the red light come on when you turn the pedal on ? that pedal has 2 photocells which react to the amount of light from the bulb. A GE 387 28V Aircraft bulb works good I have lots of them I can send you a few if you pay me back for postage ;) take the bottom cover off and look inside to see if you can see any obvious problems be careful there is 120 Volts in there !!!!

I have one first in my effects chain I don't use it as a fuzz or wah, I turn the Wah On / Fuzz off then push the pedal partially down until it just starts to change the sound. You will never get the Fuzz Face > Vox Wah sound with it I have several of those that I use in my effects chain :jimi:

I don't know what is wrong with it.Hasn't worked in years. It doesn't have at least one of the bulbs in it.I will have to open it up and look.Last time it worked it seemed like it soaked signal or made the amp sound quieter volume wise if that makes sense.I robbed one of the bulbs to put in another Morley pedal that I no longer have.I am primarily a bass player and my obsession with Cliff Burton has surfaced again. So now I think this pedal needs to work again even though I doubt it will get used live. Then again maybe so if it works right.

I just opened this thing up.I guess at some point I put another bulb in it.It does power up but doesn't sound right.I do not see anything burnt or out of place in the pedal.

When you push the pedal down it moves that cover away from the photo cells to allow more light to hit them which changes the sound you can move the photo]cells around to change the sound. also make sure the cover stops the light from getting to the photo cells when the pedal is up.
