Re: Tape Echo Pedals who uses what?
I agree with what you said its personal preference really and tone is totally subjective. Theres many good tones out there and great tones out there. I dont see a problem owning a old echoplex or a boutique pedal if it sounds good it sounds good. This Ep Booster isnt working for me the MV alone on this amp puts out enough distortion. And with the parametric eq boosting a few of the frequencies its there balls out gain sustain and all the distortion I could dream of. I unfortunatly didnt read the stores return policy and they will only give me a store credit. I will not buy from them again every other place I bought from gave me 30 days to make sure I liked it and sounded good with my rig. You never know how something is gonna sound till its hooked up to your rig. So now I got to take a loss on the darn thing or keep it as a back up gain pedal. Rock on gentleman

A wise man once said:
"There is no right piece of gear, only the next piece of gear."
He eventually went broke, but his tone was incredible

Re: Tape Echo Pedals who uses what?
Could anybody give me an opinion of the Line 6 DL4 tape echo models verses the Wampler?
I find the line 6 echos are more effective without the overdriver pedal on in front of it, does the Wampler respond simularly?
I am interested in a possible upgrade of the DL4.....and other tape echo modelers out there anybody would reccomend?

I had a DL-4 and I sold it on eBay after having it for many years. It was way to complex for me to figure out how to use it. I couldn't even figure out how to turn the damn thing on and off.bdc wrote:Could anybody give me an opinion of the Line 6 DL4 tape echo models verses the Wampler?

I have no complications with using the DL4, I was just wondering if there is a better modeler out there to get an echoplex type delay sound.. and in a pedal...
