FINALLY I'M IN TUNE!!!!!!!!! STROBOSTOMP IS THE REAL DEAL!!

Post by dirtydeeds22 » Sat Mar 12, 2005 12:12 am

Last week out of frustration of never being in tune, dealing with my shitty Korg G-12 that the needle stopped working months ago, I broke down and paid the $181.00 for a Peterson Strobostomp. I got it this afternoon and the results are in. I don't think I've ever really been in tune the past 16 years I've been playing guitar. According to the website and the instructions(BTW this is the only thing with this pedal that sucks- They don't tell you how to use the pedal in the instructions, I had to go to the website) the strobostomp is 30 times more accurate than anything else available. Who knows if that's true, but chords have never sounded this good. EVER!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, I really don't think I've ever really been in tune. Chords, songs that I play all the time, hell even the Superlead sounds different.
This pedal should be part of everybody's rig.

Save, save, save; or charge, charge charge. Just buy one. You won't even think about the money once you're really in tune.

I got one about a month ago. It was the first time I was able to get my Les Paul in tune with a tuner. The Stobo is awesome.

Gees, i must have a wonder tuner than. My cheapo Korg gets my LP in tune. I don't have +$200 to spend on a tuner along.. dang.

Yeah. I bought a beat up Boss pedal real cheap to tune with. I use one of those nice boss tuners for adjustments but to get tuned up for stage I never thought it was so difficult. Get your A string in tune and the rest of the strings in the 'area' then you get the exact tuning you like to use by ear. How can you use the tuners preset tuning? Everyones got their own way of intonating. I like tuning so that my G and D open cords are in perfect tuning. The E and C and A are close at that point where as if I tune to an A or C the D and G are waaay off. I also tend to make the low E a little flat since it goes sharp when you hit it hard.

Do you use the "sweetened" GTR setting? I've been expiramenting and both the normal and GTR setting sound great.

I'm sure the Strobo Stomp is totally awesome on levels i've never experienced before. But when you gotta worry about an important anniversary like i do, you tend not to be selfish like i'm trying so hard to do. I've got such an itch for gear! MUST RESIST!

What's great is that she doesn't mind i'm an active player. So she doesn't give me sass about how i practice or all my equipment.

My wife is my best friend who also lets me spend money, jam, play with other musicians, but let me tell ya there will come a time when your "guitar time" is going to have to secondary to hers. Don't be fooled, women have different brains than we do.
