Yes. It works. What it does is take away the crunchiness and huge jump in volume when you click on the pedal. Stock the phase sounds like your making the sound of a rocket taking off with your mouth or like making a cat hiss noise with more spit back there to crunch the sound up. Thats the only way I can think to describe it. Its likely thats the only real difference between the Phase 90s and the EVH Phaser. Other then the paint job

I've done that mod and it sounds really good. That said, I 'm going to build a clone from www.buildyourownclone.com Judging from the TS808 clone and Rangemaster clone I built, it should be top notch with true bypass to boot. They also have a mod that allows you to adjust the sweep.
I put some vishay resistors in my TS808 and some high end caps just for fun. I don't know if it sounds much different, but it's cool to tweak your own.
I think the kit is only $75 and I plan on building one really soon.
