Does anyone notice a difference in sound between the 74 WITH TB switch, led and the 74 without those? Or do they sound exactly the same?

Just bringing up this old topic cause like most guitarists I've been changing my setup countless times the last 3 years :) Somehow I replaced the 74 re-issue for a original 70's script phaser along the way. Don't know why really...anyway: Last week I was offered a '74 re-issue (again). Bought it right away and (again) compared it to my original Script Phase 90. Damn....the 74 sound so close!!! Perhaps it's even better that the original thing

Differences:
- the original sounds somewhat darker, warmer if you will.
- The Vintage 74 Phase sound is more 'up front' in a very good way.
- The Vintage 74 sounds more 'alive' to me

So...everybody who's looking for that original great script sound, get yourself a Vintage 74!

Yeah, I like mine (74 reissue). I havent pulled the circuit out to look, but havent some said it is the EXACT board and circuit of the EVH phase 90 ? My '96 block logo BOOSTS the signal (like everyone knows), but I like that for certain things. The '74 reissue is just a tad more subtle, warm and smooth, whereas the block is a tad harsher, pronounced and loud.

74 reissue for early Ed

Block for early Dave Murry

The standard script reissue is an EVH board but the '74 script reissue is a handwired replica (apparently) of the originals.

. I reguarly mod and fuck with stuff, but the '74 MXR reissue wraps that 'foamy' wrap around the board, and I am ALWAY's aware that ANYTHING I get may (and Probably will) be sold, so I hesitate sometimes :x You have to razor cut that shit to get at the board  .

Seems MXR are AT LEAST trying to throw off novices like myself :D .
