You want to shift the sweep down more? That takes some of the 'wah' out. Personally I hate Vox and Dunlop wahs. But you can do that if you want. I barely use wah (ever) but I have a Clyde and Teese Picture which I equaly love (hence why I dont sell one). If you replace the main parts with Fulltones inductore and pot you wont regret it. Im sure there are ways to shift the range though.

Thanks Dan I've never play vox and others wahs only Dunlop's hendrix and crybaby and I'm not happy with that sound, hendrix to low and crybaby to high. So my question is what could you suggest to change on ptb for universal sound, more range? I don't know what is it in english more wah sound.

This may be elementary, but have you tried adjusting the pot and gear so that the pedal up is more to the treble side of the hendrix? The thing is those dunlop wahs (most wahs really) have a gear system, a strait 'arm' gear that comes down and up with the pedal action and turns the pot. But the pot only turns about 3/4 of its range. So you could unscrew the plastic peice holding the 'arm' gear in place and turn the pot all the way to the treble side (or bass) and put the 'arm' gear back in place so that when the pedal is all the way up it is at the most trebly part of the wah pots sweep (or inversly for the bass).

Anything above that and my feelings are those wahs are just not very good. Sure they sound fine with modern amps but with a Super Lead or the like you can hear the range and the vocalness so much better.

I think that the better of the two is the vox. Much better. I dont want to hurt any feelings but I thik the dunlops are complete junk. I dont want to start a 'this sucks that sucks' thread but I really hate dunlops. The only reason magazines reviews and such pander to the dunlop wahs as serious wah contenders is the BS hendrix conection. They slapped the hendrix name on em. True story. Yet again one time I got into a heated argument in the Cherry Hill Sam Ash because the dumb fucking kid working there tried to tell me Hendrix used a dunlop Crybaby wah. Fucking idiot. The dunlops were the first 2 wahs I owned years ago and avbove all else their made like shit because both conked out waaay too quickly.

The good news is, if you can build an amp, you can avail yourself of all the drop in wah kits out there. Fulltone, Teese, Analogman... All these different guys make great wahs and you can get just the circuits and wire them into the dunlop shell. The encloser is the most expensive part because they have to be custom made.

But as to modding a dunlop, I dont know.

Thanks Dan you always respond for my question about SB and SL. So I'm going to order circuit and put into pedal. I tried to change pot position but I didn't help. I live in the country which is not friendly to musicans looking butique gear. So dunlop was choosen. Thanks a lot and I look for circuit.
Ps. I use analogman SD9 silver mod. The best dist pedal which I've checked.
Thanks a lot

Much of that is my opinion (opinions are like assholes- everyone has em and they all stink to everyone else) but I really find it hard to believe a marshall user who wants more range wouldnt find a Fulltone Clyde, Teese Picture or the other really nice wahs a quantum leap over a dunlop. Believe me thats all they carry in the big stores arounf here is Dunlop Vox and now budda. In the 4th largest US city I still have a hard time finding stores that carry booteeks to try out. Thats why I always hit Martins and the other good stores when Im in NYC.

Dan what is your opinion about RMC, which work best with SB and strato single coils - hendrixy sound.

Well the picture wah, the one I have, is supposed to be THE clone of the old italian clyde mccoy vox's. Other then that Ive owend the Wizards which I did not like. It was better then most other stuff but the range was shifted really low which was way too mudy. It lacked the 'wah' sound that I wanted though the vocalness was good. Just too low. Sounded better with clean tones. In all fairness thats exactly how it was advertised. Lower, smoother. Theres this custom RMC called the 'Wheels of Fire' wah which is supposed to be rediculous. Thats not onlu supposed to be the best at the clapton/cream stuff but the Jimi stuff too. I had that on my list for down the road purchases. The RMC's have the adjustment thingies inside the case. So their pretty versatile and many peopl prefer them to Pictures but Ive never played one. Im sure they are great though.

Thanks a lot Dan. I listen audio of RMCs and picture wah and wheels of fire are the most interesting. I asked Teese about circuit only but they dont sell circuit. I find http://area51tubeaudiodesigns.com/Merch ... ode=cat003 they sell clone italian wah board. What do you think?
thanks

Hmmm... I could swear he sold wah parts. At one time anyway. I dont know a huge amount about building wahs but that stuff at that site looks like its probably genuine about being true to originals in most respects.

Teese stopped selling parts some time ago and I guess recently Fulltone stopped selling their inductors. Dunlop came out w/two Fasels (red and yellow) which are supposedly better than what they had. I have no idea about the area 51 parts. Wah wah. dot uk (or something like that) and Ariel fx? in Israel also sells inductors (Halo replicas iirc). Roger Mayer sells a retrofit kit also.
