Billy Gibbons Rig Rundown

So Billy has finally seen fit to let his secrets out. His guitar tech does all the explaining. Very interesting to hear how massive his collection of guitars is...

Cool on the guitars..

I was hoping to get a look at his amp collection, and a run down of the stuff he used to use. Oh well, fun viewing, anyway. Thanks!

I think he has something like 25-50 tweed Super's (plow front). Think he used a 100 watt Marshall, with one blown tube, on Cheap Sunglasses. I believe George posted that he also used this crazy delay in the studio. Basically amounting to 30 feet of coiled garden hose, that somehow gives a natural delay at the other end of the hose... Crazy stuff. Be fun if he went back to that stuff.

wow a set of 7's. I thought 8's were small, I didn't even know they made 7's. I thought it was strange that they try to EQ everything like his Les Paul. Part of the fun of different guitars is the other tones, but I guess he wants Les Paul tones no matter what he is using. Cool vid.

Gibbons is the perfect example of a great guitarist that has no "one" tone. There is an endless galaxy of guitars, amps, effects, etc. He does something crazy on a regular basis. He does something totally normal on a regular basis. IMHO, he is just plain impossible to quantify...

He sure likes his fuzz's... Keeps Anolog Mike busy ! Seven sunfaces and four sunlions  [ref: AnologMike - GearPage]
He's got a little in common with Beck & Leno in the vehicle dept. I don't think Jeff or Billy come close to Jay even combined !
