Really sorry to hear this. The product was great! I wish I couldn't relate to his troubles so well. I have lost money every year since 2008 and needed a business manager since day 1. By the time my business skills got up to par I was buried. Not sure I could have saved the kit business, in fact I would have made the call to stop them much sooner.

Wow. This story isn't an unusual one. I think so many people get into business on the internet hoping to be the "next big thing" and it certainly seems like Faustine had a superior product, but there's so much competition for the dollar out there... add in overhead costs, and you're better off working a day job, which gives you a steady income, plus benefits ...

But from the other end, it sucks to be a customer who sent a deposit for a product that he'll never get, and a refund he'll likely (admittedly) never see.

What would be an alternative for the Faustine?

I have the Alex Attenuator, and I think it's great. Much better than the THD Hotplate I had.

I've been using an Alex Attenuator in my demo room since the LA AMP Show in 2009. I made that decision after hearing the Faustine Phantom side by side with the Alex. Doesn't have as many bells and whistles, but it's also 1/2 (less actually) the price of the Faustine...and...available.

Anyone going to the amp show in Anaheim (info below) can come check one out at my demo room there. I'll be sharing a room with my buddy Jim Wagner of WCR Guitar...and we'll have the usual Hebrew National hot dogs and beer as well.

I'd get an Alex even if Faustine had things smoothed out and was still operating.

And so I DID!

Alex.
