RM Axis fuzz question
Hope you guys can help! I tried a lot of different pedals but I keep coming back to this one but I can only max out the volume with low output pups. I'm getting bass overload with just a medium output pup(8.4dc). If something can be changed I don't know what, where it would be located and what value to use. If someone could help I would appreciate it, thanks

Re: RM Axis fuzz question
try reducing coupling caps or implementing eq like the tc axis or voodoo-axe

Thanks Roe, I can solder but I don't know what to look for, where it is or what values to use
I don't mind reading to find out if you can tell me where to look. Thanks

Re: RM Axis fuzz question
I read on Fuzz Central that changing the 47k feedback resistor would help. I put in a 33k and it did seem to knock of a lot of the bass overload. Then I switched out my curly cable for a straight and think that did it! I hope it's not just an initial reaction. If this solved the problem then I'll have to hunt for a curly cable that can deliver the same capitance as a straight, if thats posible.

Re: RM Axis fuzz question
The feedback resistor does clean things up and tighten the bass since there isn't as much gain/compression going on.
Ideally, you want to leave the feedback resistor as it is and lower the input coupling cap - 0.01uF is a good start, but I like to use a rotary switch with say six different values from 4700pF up to maybe 47uF so you have everything from tight crunch to collapsing bass goodness

Re: RM Axis fuzz question
Ok, I'll try to find a layout that will show me where it is and try that. Thanks HTH

Re: RM Axis fuzz question
I switched the 2.2uf input cap for a.47uf and kept the 33k for the feedback resistor. I like this, it took out the bass overload keeps the bass tight when I crank my guitar's volume all the way up. I'll try the rotary switch later or try out a varible pot as an eq. as Roe suggested. Thanks guys!
