I'm always really wary of reactive load boxes. Mainly because I know next to nothing about them!! How do we know they're safe to use?

Reactive simply means that instead of providing a constant resistance regardless of frequency and amplitude it will react more like a speaker and present a different resistance dependant upon frequency and amplitude.

Your speakers are a reactive load. Nothing dangerous about them.

Sorry for the extremely late reply!

I understand that speakers are reactive loads but can't some reactive loads cause spikes? I thought that's why the Marshall Powerbrake was so notorious for blowing up Output Transformers.
