Has anyone ever tried Shuguang EL34s?

Dan,

I tried Svetlana EL34's (the old Svets, not the New Sensor ones). I found them to be tight and bright with warm mids. I haven't heard the JJ's yet. They might actually beat the Svets. So far the Svets are the best new-production EL34 I've come across. Even so, I've decided El34's are not for me.

I really like the SED Winged =C= EL34's (the real Svets.)

I've got a pair of Shuguangs that I've never even had in an amp.

I've used the Svets (old real ones and newer SED/Winged =C= versions) and the JJs and Siemens EL34s.

I like the SED/Svets the best overall. They give the amp a good range. The highs aren't as harsh and the lows are full. The JJ E34Ls are also good sounding but with a lot of headroom and they seem a little brighter to me. The Seimens are good sounding but a little darker; not a bad sound at all, especially when pushed, but I think overall I prefer the SEDs.

Haven't used the Shuguang EL34s, but the KT-66s and 5881s are very nice sounding tubes. A little gritty in a good way.

I've been thinking of trying the Valve Art EL34's based on how much I like the KT66's. Both are Shuang (sp?)
