Sorry, I know it's childish but I just had to share.

BTW, those Haltron (siemens munich longplates - 6 pcs @ less than $30/pop) do sound ******* GREAT! Had a good go with them in V1 in my 12-series plexi, and they are fullbodied and well tuned. Not an incling of microphony! 8)

You always seem to luck out! Please, share all you like.

How do the Valvo tubes sound? General Philips vibe? I've been meaning to try them...

Do the Siemens longplates have enough "focus" and punch for V1?

Those siemens&halske sound very good indeed.
It's not luck really, it's more looking in the right places
and being persistent.

Haven't had time to try out the Valvos yet. Maby this afternoon. :D

Took a little break from work and tried the Valvos.
Hehe, they sound terrific! Very focused in exactly the right
dark mid spot, and killer punch - like a Mullard but with
tighter bottom and more punch. They were definitely
worth every penny, and then some! 8) :P 8)
