JJ E34Ls are dead

Post by johniss0001 » Fri Dec 09, 2005 2:59 pm

hey guys my jjs are dead i have only used the 78 sb a handful of times and when i was playin the other night i heard a hiss powered down while i was on the phone to john at sozo, the next day i got a hummm powered down then next there was no sound so i thought at first it was my pre tubes switched them round sound was back but that bloody hummm was still there, so i thought today i ain't gonna be scared of that amp and put my old itt el34's back in and RESULT the amp was working peacefully i realised how bright those jjs are compared to the old itt's.
but my point here is i ordered those tubes on the 17th of may 2005 with my birthday money and it is nearly Christmas and they are dead and unfortunately i don't have any money for new tubes but the itts will do for now. BTW the jjs only had barely 5 hours on them

john, must have been a bad set or something else with the amp making them give up. I'd check the amp over. I've run the jj's and would describe them as bulletproof, George swears by them too, strange :?
